1977 The Detroit Chinese Alliance Church was established in 1977, beginning with a few couples meeting under the leadership of Herman Tang, Carpus Yip and Peter Chu and their wives. The three brothers were all studying at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Chicago, and they traveled back and forth every weekend as part of the pioneering process of planting a new church.
In June 1979 Pastor C. C. Hoh began to serve as the senior pastor. In October of the following year, he returned to Canada. After that, Pastor Samuel Mok of the Windsor Chinese Alliance Church came to help this fledgling ministry.
In October 1981 Pastor Daniel Chen, his wife Ann, and their family came to the United States from Taiwan and began to serve in the church.
1982 The church was officially established on April 4 and named the Metro Detroit Chinese Christian and Missionary Alliance Church (MDCAC).
1984 After Pastor Daniel Chen became the senior pastor, the church launched many ministries, such as adult Sunday school, children’s Sunday school, fellowship groups, choirs, Chinese schools, Sunday lunch programs, etc.
1987 Due to the increase in the number of members, under the guidance of God, MDCAC purchased its first church in Troy in October.
1989 The church obtained a loan from the Alliance Development Fund and began to purchase a new church building.
In June 1991 After the church had its own building, the number of believers began to increase rapidly.
1995 Brother Daniel Shen graduated from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and became the church’s assistant pastor.
1996 After fifteen years of faithful service, Pastor Daniel Chen officially retired and became a pastor emeritus.
In September 1997, Daniel Shen was officially appointed as the senior pastor. At the same time, Gideon Tsang began to serve as a youth pastor.
1998 Pastor Daniel Chen was called back to the Lord. Brother David Chang felt God’s call to full-time ministry and became part of the church’s preaching rotation. Two Chinese worship services began in September.
In October 1999, the expansion of the church building began, with the expansion area being 40% of the original area.
In March 2001, the building expansion project was completed and officially opened.
In July 2010, Pastor Karsun Wong accepted God’s call to serve as the pastor of the Cantonese ministry.
In July 2014, Pastor Robert Burns accepted God’s call to serve as the pastor of the English ministry.
In January 2025, Pastor Biao Pan accepted God’s call to serve as the pastor of the Mandarin ministry.
The MDCAC has grown from a small parish to a vibrant local community of believers with a clear vision for growth and expansion. It actively establishes new churches to expand its influence and sends members—brothers and sisters in Christ—to spread the gospel abroad. The church is also committed to developing disciples through teaching, mentoring, and discipleship programs to promote spiritual growth. Whether through local involvement, international missions, or forming believers in their faith journey, this church continues to help more people come to know God.
1977 底特律華人宣道會於1977年成立，開始於幾對夫婦聚會，由鄧灼文, 葉華和朱文正以及他們的妻子們帶領。這三個弟兄是芝加哥三一神學院的神學生，他們每個週末都來回奔波，開拓建立這間新教會。
1979 6月，何禎祥牧師開始擔任主任牧師。隔年10月，他返回加拿大。此後，溫莎華人宣道會的莫新靈牧師前來幫助這個剛起步的教會。
1981 10月，陳有華牧師和他的妻子陳靜安師母，以及他們的家人，從台灣來到美國，並開始在教會事奉。
1982 該堂於4月4日正式成立，名為底特律華人宣道會。
1984 陳有華牧師出任主任牧師後，教會開展了許多事工，如成人主日學、兒童主日學、團契小組、唱詩班、中文學校、及主日午餐等。
1987 由於人數的增加，在上帝的指引下，底特律華人宣道會於10月購買了位於特洛伊的第一座教堂。
1989 教會獲得宣道會總會的發展基金的貸款，開始購買新的教堂。
1991 6月 教會擁有自己的聚會堂點後，信徒人數開始快速增加。
1995 諶志豪弟兄從芝加哥三一神學院畢業，並成為教會的助理牧師。
1996 經過十五年的忠心事奉，陳有華牧師正式退休並成為顧問牧師。
1997 9月，諶志豪正式被任命為主任牧師。同時，曾以信開始擔任青少年牧師。
1998 陳有華牧師被召回天家。張惟中弟兄回應神對全職事奉的呼召，進入神學院就讀，並在教會事奉。兩堂中文崇拜聚會於九月開始。
1999 10月，教堂的擴建工程開始進行，擴建面積為原面積的40％。
2001 3月，教堂擴建工程竣工，正式啟用。
2010 7月，黃家燊牧師接受神的呼召，擔任粵語堂牧師。
2014 7月，Robert Burns牧師接受神的呼召，擔任英語堂牧師。
2025 1月，潘彪牧師接受神的呼召，擔任國語堂牧師。
底特律華人宣道會從小小的堂會發展成為一個充滿活力，在當地社區見證主耶穌的教會，並有著神賜下的清晰願景。積極建立新的教會以擴大見證耶穌基督的影響力，並差派教會的會友到國外傳播福音。教會也致力於透過門徒訓練來培養門徒，以促進靈性成長。無論是透過本地植堂、國外宣教，或是信徒在信仰的旅程中成長，這座教會都在繼續讓更多的人認識神。
